A guy offered me a ride to Munich at dawn. I escaped in a red dress. He insisted that we see this castle on the way out. We were alone at dawn, eating chips, drinking great beer, on the steps of this magnificent castle, atop a super-steep hill….. breathtaking. He was the kindest gentleman, and I was so happy.

It’s too steep to frolic in the meadow and have a “sound of music” moment, you’ll plummet to your death. But he gave me the history of how they were never conquered because they installed an elevator-type shaft in the middle of the mountain castle to lower people down to the bottom to a tunnel that lead to the forestside. These people collected food to sustain the castle inhabitants. How cool is that?

I plan to revisit this place one day, I dream about it often.
