Termalpark Veľký Meder is a popular thermal water park situated in the village Veľký Meder in Slovakia, about 10 km from the Hungarian border and 65 km from the capital city of Bratislava.

Termalpark Veľký Meder offers 9 pools with thermal water, with a temperature of 26-38 °C. The complex consists of indoor and outdoor sections. Indoor swimming complex offers 4 pools, bubble bath, massage, biosolarium, sauna world, bioptron treatment, beauty salon, magnotherapy, self-service restaurant and bar. There are 5 water slides, two of them are open whole year round, rope park, sports pitch, table tennis, playground or you can try aqua aerobic.

Children can have fun in new indoor entertainment pool, where they can find a unique attraction: an interactive water playground “Water Tower”. Waterfalls, showers, water curtain, water cannons, and slides for children offer unforgettable moments and maximum fun for the whole family.

The basic whole-day ticket costs €8 but it’s little bit higher on weekends and summer. However there are several discounts e.g. if you stay overnight in the complex or in some of the partners’ hotels nearby. The indoor complex is open daily from 9am to 9pm whole year round and outdoor complex only from May to October – but you can use outdoor thermal pools without any restrictions also in winter. Bavarian ski resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is the most popular and largest Alpine resort in Germany. The resort is situated in a valley surrounded both with beautiful forests as well as with the highest mountain peaks of Wetterstein mountain range. Its slopes are spread in an altitude ranging from 700m to 2962m, which is the height of the highest German mountain, Zugspitze glacier.

The resort in the valley of Loisach river offers a completely ideal ski conditions and hosted the Winter Olympic Games in 1936, World Cup in downhill skiing in 1978, FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 2011 and many others. It is ideal both for lovers of challenging downhill skiing as well as cross-country skiers. In addition, Garmisch-Partenkirchen resort offers a skating track, slopes for alpine skiing and other winter sports.

Popular resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is divided into two areas; Garmisch Classic and Zugspitze.

Garmisch Classic has 40 kilometers of slopes at an altitude ranging from 700m to 2050m and consists of winding slopes leading below the peaks Hausberg, Kreuzjoch and Osterfelderkopf. Here you find both family slopes and killer black slope called Kandahar, which is the most difficult slope of all in the area.

Slopes on the Zugspitze glacier are situated at an altitude ranging from 2050m – 2962m and are mostly red, nicely rugged. The peak of the highest German mountain offers spectacular views over the surrounding Alpine peaks. Since this area is situated on the glacier, it provides a good snow conditions from November to May

Ski pass prices and opening hours
You can buy Top Snow Card which allows you to use the extended range of up to 87 lifts in 215 km of slopes in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen resort and the wider area. Two-day ticket costs €72,50 for adults and €43,50 for children from 6 to 15 years. Seven-day card costs €218 and €131 for children.

The area also offers a top-level service and luxury hotels and atmosphere of a real mountain resort. You can find here also a ski school, rental equipment and a variety of wellness services.

Do you wonder how it looks like in the treetops? Now it is possible to get there thanks to the Tree Top Walk, which was opened two years ago in Neuschönau, Germany. It is a part of the largest protected forest area in central Europe – Bavarian Forest National Park, which is also the first national park in Germany.

Tree Top Walk is the longest trail of that kind in the world, with a total length of 1300 metres. You can enjoy unspoilt nature at a height of 8-25 meters above the ground. The experience of walking through mixed forest is extended with three stations with a rope adventure elements, the swaying bridge, trapeze and the beam, which thrill not only children but also adults.

Walkway ends with 44 meters high observation tower, from which you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. In clear weather you will even be able to see the north ridge of the Alps.

Both the trail and also the tower are barrier-free. Admission is €8 for adults, €6 for children of 6+ years, family ticket costs €19. The trail is open year round except for Christmas Day, every day from 9:30 am, according to an annual period closes at 15:30, respectively, at 18:00 or 19:30. In bad weather, such as storm or hurricane, the trail is closed.

Karlsruhe Zoo is one of the best and oldest zoological gardens in Germany. It is located in the city of Karlsruhe, in the south-western part of the country, close to French borders. Karlsruhe Zoo deserves special attention, since there are no fences or cages here. But you don’t have to be afraid, animals are separated by moats with water, dry branches or deep trenches.

Zoo Karlsruhe was founded in 1865 and now have more than 1000 animals representing 150 species. There are about 800 trees and more than 15,000 roses (300 different species).

Zoo Karlsruhe is thematically divided into 10 main sections:

  • Water exposure (polar bears, penguins and seals)
  • The African savanna (giraffes, zebras, antelopes, ostriches)

Vintgar Gorge is one of the most popular natural features in Slovenia about 4 km north of the town of Bled and contains of Radovna river Valley that surround the high rock walls. Gorge is a popular place for tourists, there are really beautiful natural scenery. Since 1893, there is a wooden walking path through the gorge, which is long 1600 m. The river makes series of rapids and waterfalls. The most popular waterfall is Šum. Next to the waterfall there is a pilgrimage church of St. Catherine. All along the trails there are lots of rest areas with benches and picnic tables.

The entrance to the gorge is paid and a basic adult ticket costs 4 Eur.

Aquaboulevard is the biggest water park in France and maybe the biggest aquatic indoor recreational water park in the Europe. It is located in the 15th Arrondissement of Paris and has parking space for up to 900 cars. It is spread throughout 7000 square metres and it is a great place for all the family.

Dedicated to providing enjoyment and fun for virtually all ages, Aquaboulevard has beautiful tropical surroundings, with the air and water inside the complex being kept at a very comfortable 29 degrees Celsius all year.

The Aquaboulevard is situated within a massive sports complex that has tennis courts, a complete gym, squash courts and a fitness centre along with lots of other facilities, which is a great place to keep up with your sporting passion or just to go and have some fun and relax.

As well as the indoor part of Aquaboulevard, there is an outside section with outdoor pools, even a beach and a grass area for sunbathing.

You will also find a 14 screen cinema complex and no less than seven restaurants and one that overlooks the pool does some fantastic meat dishes, plus there is a sports store and a play area. There is also a wave machine in one pool that is turned on and off at different intervals throughout the day, but there are lots of other pools as well, so all members of the family can enjoy themselves, plus there are some Jacuzzi‘s.

The whole day adult ticket costs 25 Euros.

Within any public swimming pool in France everyone must have fitted swim wear, so the men are not allowed to wear shorts, they need to be trunks like a professional swimmer would wear and the ladies have to wear a full swimming costume. This is also the same for the children as well, so be prepared, otherwise you will have to purchase these in the shop before being allowed to go in.

Children under the age of three are not allowed to access the Aqua Park and an adult must accompany any child below the age of twelve.

The Aquaboulevard is open seven days a week from 9am to 9pm during the weekdays and from 8am to 9pm at the weekends.
