The Perfect Festival Holiday Without Leaving The UK

Updated: August 10, 2020 | By | More

Finding a great destination for a break away from home can be difficult, especially when summer seasons bump up travel costs and make holidays abroad noticeably more expensive. So I’ve put together a little hints and tips article to pass on some advice to all of you music lovers out there who fancy a little break away, without breaking the bank.

Each year in August Scotland’s already bustling, lively capital city of Edinburgh is inundated with visitors from all over the UK and Europe attending the increasingly more renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Because of its length at its containment within the city limits, Fringe Festival is steadily becoming more popular each year with more and more artists and venues throughout the city wanting to get involved. One of the best parts of Fringe Festival is that it is spread of a huge number of different venues which range in size, notoriety and capacity. The categories and types of acts also range from all spectrums of music, art and performance from Tattoo exhibitions to Scottish fine art, comedy and everything in between.

In terms of music there is also a vast amount of different styles and genres to enjoy from a full performance of Vivaldi’s master piece The Four Seasons to The World Jazz Orchestra playing a collection of the works of Duke Ellington. From an all female a capella group called Belles Amies to the up and coming King Creosote.

Not only does Edinburgh go on for longer, and have far more to offer than most festivals hosted anywhere in the world but it can also very cheap compared to a lot of foreign festivals. Going away to festivals has become a new trend among travellers and tourists alike but it’s only now that people are starting to realise they can do it cheaper, for longer if they head up to UK festivals like the Fringe Festival.

If you’re travelling from the South of England then one of the cheapest ways to experience Edinburgh Fringe Fest is to book a cheap flight up to Edinburgh airport, make and advanced booking to leave your car in the care of a company who provide offsite parking at Gatwick airport and jump on the plane. This will be cheaper than paying for petrol, most often it will even be cheaper than taking a train and it will mean your car is safe from thieves who often keep an eye on cars which they suspect aren’t being watched.

Keeping your car safe by booking your car in with an offsite car parking company will most often save you money for further travel expenses. Not only this, but it can also give you some piece of mind by offering twenty four hour surveillance and full insurance for your vehicle.

So, if you have the urge to do some travelling this August or just wish to get out of your home town or city and have no idea where to go, and if you’re looking for some extra excitement to go with your trip away Edinburgh Fringe Festival might be the ideal location for you.
