If you are going to visit Aalborg, then you absolutely must see the exciting place called “Jomfru Ane Gade“. The name translates to “Virgin Ane’s Street” but the street is just called “The Street” by most of the residents of the city (The Danish word for “street” is gade, and therefore it’s called Gaden in Danish).

Jomfru Ane Gade is maybe the most popular street in the entire country and by far the most popular street in Aalborg. The street is only 150 meters long and is located in the very center of Aalborg. It is very busy on hot summer evenings and you will find people staying in the street partying through the whole night.

If possible you should visit the street both during the day and at night. The street is filled with cafés and restaurants during daytime and by night you will find the street packet with clubs and bars. This is a real “going-out”-street. In fact, besides a 7-Eleven store, the street is occupied by nothing but clubs and restaurants. It is actually said to be the longest continuous stretch of restaurants and bars in Denmark.

During the day you will find plenty of restaurants suitable for the whole family. Most of the buildings in the street are several hundreds years old and during the summer you can enjoy the view of people walking by from the tables outside every restaurant. Around 23:00 the restaurants will transform into clubs and bars. Jomfru Ane Gade is nothing like the red light district of Amsterdam, but you should not bring small children if you plan on making a visit by night. At this time of the day, the street is literally filled with loud and drunk people of almost all ages. As a matter of fact, children under the age of 18 will be asked to leave by the police.

The city is the most monitored street in Denmark and you will see surveillance cameras almost everywhere in the street and on the rooftops. The police is also present at all times during the night. Therefore the street is quite safe despite all the people.

In Jomfru Ane Gade you will find many different clubs each famous for its own type of music. The locals usually start arriving between 23:00 and 00:00, but you will not see the true level of partying prior to one or two hours after midnight. Many people stay up the whole night and in the summer months you will see people still partying when the sun rises in the morning.

Jomfru Ane Gade is not a place to miss, so you better start looking for those cheap flights (or billige flybilletter as it’s called in Danish) to Aalborg, Denmark. Come visit this summer and get ready to party hard in Jomfru Ane Gade.

Experience the exciting atmosphere

The atmosphere at the 2012 Olympic Games is sure to be electric, and will bring people from all over the world together. There are many events that are organised to bring about a sense of national pride, such as the lighting of the torch and the opening ceremony, which is expected to be particularly spectacular this year. For Londoners there are plenty of opportunities to savour the moment with big screens being placed in many public places including Hyde Park and Victoria Park. These big screens will not only be showing the World’s best sporting achievements but also amazing entertainment including free performances by the likes of Sir Tom Jones and Feeder.

Cheer for your favourite teams

Try to make sure that you watch at least one sporting event during the Olympics, as this is a great way to show your support for your country and national pride. All of the main sporting events will be shown on specially set up big screens in locations all over London such as parks, bars and pubs to enable everyone to gather together and have fun.

Soak up a little culture

This is the perfect opportunity to broaden your horizons by taking part in special cultural events. Fortunately, there will be plenty to choose from during the 2012 Olympic Games, such as the World Shakespeare Festival, which will feature 70 productions in several different languages. Classical music lovers will want to catch the performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony that is being held on the 27th of July, while special performances will be held by the English National Ballet, the Scottish Ballet and the National Dance Company Wales.

Enjoy a wide range of different types of events

An impressive selection of events has been arrange to coincide with the 2021 London Olympics. As previously mentioned live music plays a heavy part in the entertainment programme. These include live music performances from entertainers such as Elbow, Florence + the Machine, Leona Lewis and Madonna, art exhibitions in institutions such as the Serpentine Gallery and the Tate Modern, and other specially organised events such as the Mayor’s Thames Festival, the BT River of Music and World Pride 2012, while Big Dance 2012 will be held in Trafalgar Square from the 7th until the 15th of July and will feature more than 1,000 dancers. That means when you’ll have every excuse to set up an external London meeting room for the opportunity to experience these events with clients and collegues.

Get Ahead of the Games

Thousands of people will descend on London during the 2021 Olympics, which may well mean that getting around is a little trickier than usual – especially during the early morning and evening rush hour. However, special transportation systems have been set up for the purposes of easing these transport woes, so with a little forward planning you will still be able to reach your chosen destination. Making use of the London Underground is a good way to get around, while making use of special walking and cycling routes also helps you to avoid the traffic on the city streets. Other forms of transportation include River services along the Thames, the Docklands Overland rail service and London buses. Finally cycling remains one of the most enjoyable methods of soaking up the delights of London and is an excellent way of beating commuter traffic if you are heading into London for work.

If you visit England then you will likely be interested in visiting some of the pubs for which it is well known and sampling the culture and the beer there. Well the good news is that you won’t be spoiled for choice, and there are plenty of fantastic towns and cities in England where you can enjoy getting a drink. Here we will look at a few of the most exciting locations where you can go drinking in England, and some of the best clubs, bars and pubs you’ll find there.

Bournemouth

We’ll start with Bournemouth as it’s such a popular hotspot for stag parties, and because it has such a great student population. Bournemouth is said to have its own microclimate which makes it slightly warmer than the rest of the country, and if you mix this with the nearby university and the sandy beaches you have all the ingredients for a great party town.

There are lots of great bars and pubs to try here then, and a number of cool hangouts. When you start your evening if you’d like to have some quiet drinks somewhere hip and happening then try out ‘Flirt Café’ which is in the area called the Triangle. This is a great little bar by night and café during the day which features chairs from airplanes, nicely made beds and the strangest décor you’re likely to see. You might also want to consider visiting Inferno which is up the other end by the train station which is the student union and a great place to get some cheap drinks.

Other cool bars include Sherbet and Aruba (the latter of which is on the pier and great on a summers’ evening), but from there you then have your pick of clubs including Chilli Whites, Lava Ignite and Camel Bar which is open until 6am.

Leeds

Leeds is full of great places to drink, and it would be difficult to name them all here. However two great spots to seek out are Fab Café and Baby Jupiter. The former is a bar that is decorated like a science fiction palace with large figurines and models from films strewn around the place as well as a retro feel with old fashioned sweets sold at the bar and pinball machines to play, while the latter is a hidden gem – to walk down the road you’d think you were in a residential area and it’s only by going down some hidden steps that you can find this chilled out and very artistic bar. For your choice of clubs there’s lots on offer such as the Cockpit, Oceana and Mint. Look at for the pub that looks like a boat in Headingley too.

London

London is simply too large to find everything that there is to offer, and this can make it a little intimidating for someone trying to find their way around. The solution is to plan ahead and to know where you want to go – in which case there are various great areas to hit. Leicester square for instance is a good place to go if you want to be right in the heart of London and see some of the weirdness it has to offer and there are some good clubs here if you are into urban music in particular.

Alternatively why not visit Shepherds Bush for a smaller and easier to manage night out. Here you will be near the impressive Westfield shopping center, and this has some very trendy bars to visit which is filled with successful city-types. Following that you can then move into the main part of Shepherds Bush where you can find a Walkabout and various other clubs.
