The Seven Sisters Country Park is located in the South Downs National Park near Seaford inEast Sussex. It takes its name from seven peaks cut out of the chalk, and as viewed from the sea, these white chalk cliffs look very impressive. In fact, many films which feature shots of the White Cliffs of Dover actually feature the Seven Sisters instead! A protected area of natural beauty, it is an inviting place for anyone who wants to enjoy the clean coastal air.

About the Park

The Seven Sisters Country Park is a popular place with anyone interested in enjoying outdoor activities in unspoilt countryside. Cycling, canoeing, walking and birdwatching are all popular ways to spend time in the park, both for holidaymakers and educational groups. In the past, there were camping facilities for the general public, but now, the campsite is only available by pre-arrangement for educational groups. People wishing to visit the Seven Sisters Country Park as part of a holiday, will need to stay in one of the nearby towns or villages instead.

Anyone visiting the Seven Sisters Country Park for the first time should pay a visit to the information centre first. Between April and October it is open seven days a week, and contains a wealth of information about the area. Located in an 18th century barn, the helpful and knowledgeable staff can suggest which may be the best walks at different times of year, where various types of wildlife can be found, and other relevant facts.

Local Attractions

There are also many other places of interest to visit nearby to the Seven Sisters Country Park, with Eastbourne being a major tourist attraction. From here, it is possible to visit castles, battle sites and unique churches. Eastbourne is also noted for its seafront, which boasts a Victorian Pier, bandstand, children’s theme park and much more. Endless activities are available here as well such as windsurfing, golf and even sand castle building! For anyone wishing to stay in the area for their vacation, the accommodation in Eastbourne includes hotels, bed and breakfasts and camping options.

Other places of interest within an easy day trip of the Seven Sisters Country Park include Brighton to the west, with its happening atmosphere and great night life, and Hastings to the east, the scene of the famous battle of 1066. It is even possible to visit the Isle of Wight on a day trip if so desired, and whilst a trip to the New Forest National Park is a little further, it would certainly be well rewarded.

Conclusion

The Seven Sisters Country Park can be visited at any time of year, and birdwatchers in particular may wish to base their visits around the migration of various birds during the spring and the summer. For other purposes, the summer months are the most popular period, when the weather is warmer, the days longer, and the views spectacular on a clear day. Access is possible by car, but is actively discouraged in order to preserve the environment, although parking is available at a cost. Entry to the Seven Sisters Country Park is free, and a visit there can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

For those looking to earn some extra money during this time of economic instability, renting out that spare room or the private apartment you have sitting empty to holiday makers could be an interesting way to go about it. Private holiday lettings are an increasingly popular way to see the world and now is the time to get involved and establish a strong reputation. Here are some simple instructions that will keep the flow of guests and good reviews coming.

Keep it clean and tidy

Cleanliness is the first thing that guests will check. To save embarrassment and to provide a strong first impression, all surfaces should be dust-free and polished, carpets vacuumed and wooden floors mopped. Bathrooms should always be gleaming.

Provide basic utilities

If you decide to rent out rooms and provide bed and breakfast services, this issue can be avoided. If you are renting out an apartment or house, then you should ensure that the kitchen contains adequate cookery utensils, cutlery and crockery. Cleaning products should be provided too, including washing detergent if facilities are provided. Guests will appreciate not having to purchase these items for short stays.

Know the area

Those who seek private holiday lettings tend to be adventurous. A host with detailed knowledge of the local area can make the difference between a good stay and a great stay for some guests. Recommending local restaurants, bars and places of interest will also help build your reputation and set up the potential for discounts and other offers they may be willing to extend to your guests.

Another good way to learn what guests are looking for is to read reviews on websites that cater to the private holiday letting market, like Wimdu. These sites rank hosts by the strength of the reviews they receive so it is advisable to check on Wimdu and make a note of any trends that you see. Those in the UK can find instructions on tax status of holiday letting on HM Revenue and Customs official site

Blarney, known as “the biggest small village in Ireland“, is one of the most picturesque villages in Ireland. It is nestled in beautiful forested countryside, just 8 km from the city of Cork and is an excellent base for visiting of many interesting places in Counties Cork and Kerry.

Blarney boasts a long history and magical charm and offers a number of beautiful sights and places to explore. One of the places that is definitely interesting for tourists, is beautifully preserved square, which today operates as the main point of village life.

The village has been subsequently developed around this square in Tudor times and was always owned and carefully managed by the owner of Blarney Castle.

Places of interest include, for example The Blarney Stone, which is a block of bluestone built into the battlements of Blarney Castle. Also thanks to it the castle attracts more than two hundred thousand tourists each year. Visitors are coming here mainly because of the known stone they want to kiss. The legend says that whoever kisses the stone will be blessed with the gift of eloquence. Blarney Castle is surrounded with more than a thousand acres of beautiful woods that are ideal for walking, rest and picnic.

Those who do not know Ireland, should know that the term “village” is not sufficient for Blarney. This place plays an important role in tourism for more than 100 years and is known throughout the world. About a century ago a tourist would probably visit the castle and take a tea in one of two hotels in the village. Along one side of the square would have seen a number of cozy cottages, which still stand here. There is also a church nearby that was built in 1766. Another great attraction was old power plant founded in 1843, which had a room with steam and Turkish baths.

Now the visitors can play golf or do shopping in a cozy little shops on the square, but of course the most important is to kiss The Blarney Stone!
