Picture the scene: it’s a scorching hot summer’s day in Abruzzo and the sun’s rays are beating down. You may be relaxing in your villa’s private garden with a cold refreshing drink in hand, and the kids are playing outside, but they’re getting more and more restless. What you need is a fun, outdoor activity that all the family can enjoy…something that will bring lots of laughter and smiling faces…what you need is a fun-filled day out to Aqualand!

Aqualand Vasto, Abruzzo, Italy

Aqualand is a spectacular aqua park in Vasto that is perfect for all the family – adrenaline seekers, nature enthusiasts and sun worshippers alike! About 50 minutes drive from Villa Ducale in Abruzzo, it is ideally situated so you can visit when you have a day free, without having to plan in advance. This is especially convenient, as we would recommend you visit a water park on a fairly warm, sunny day to make the most of the water-fuelled fun.

For those of you that love the thrill of water slides, you will discover around a mile of slides at Aqualand, ranging from the terrifyingly-exciting Kamikaze vertical drop slide or the high speed hill slide where you can race to the finish against your family and friends, to the gentler ride along the slow-moving rapids. There are even a couple of mini slides especially for babies and younger children, so they too can enjoy the excitement of the water park.

Aqualand also offers 3,000 square metres of swimming pools to enjoy, including everyone’s favourite – the wave pool! There is even a whirlpool where you can sit amongst massaging bubbles, perfect for lifting any stress away. Isn’t that what holidays are for after all? So whether you want to ride the waves, have a relaxing swim or complete some lengths for a bit of exercise, there is a pool for you.

There are so many more attractions than just swimming pools and water slides to discover at Aqualand, however. For example, you can choose to watch a musical or dancing show at the Aqualand Theatre or take part in some sports and fitness, including the gym. There are also lots of wide open green spaces where you can enjoy a spot of sunbathing, reading a book or eating an ice-cream.

Another favourite attraction you will find at Aqualand is the petting farm. With many different animals including ponies, donkeys, rabbits and goats, the whole family, especially the younger children, will adore being able to pet the cute animals.

As you can imagine, at the end of a day out at Aqualand everyone will be feeling extremely tired after lots of laughter and exhilarating fun. And when the kids are fast asleep in bed early, you can enjoy a nice relaxing evening – that’s if you’re not fast asleep too!

Porticcio is a fishing village located on the south-west of the island of Corsica, which belongs to France. This pleasant resort is located in a large bay right in front of the island’s capital Ajaccio, only about 15 km from its center, where you can visit the museum and birthplace of Napoleon. Porticcio is about 3 km far from the well-known resort St. Francois and 7 km from Pisciatello. It is located right by the sea and offers lots of swimming possibilities, great beaches and other water sports and activities. Porticcio is suitable for family holidays.

Porticcio holiday resort which is situated in one of the most beautiful bays of the west coast of Corsica has become a popular destination for water sports lovers from all over Europe. Tips for your trips

The advantage of the site is that you can easily get to Ajaccio and other parts of the southern half of the island. South of the capital of Corsica, Ajaccio, you will find one of the most beautiful bays of the west coast. It is right opposite the Bloody Islands (Les sanguinaires) in the Ajaccio’s bay, protected by guard towers Capitello a Frassu. There are numerous hiking trails and mountain biking trails. Very attractive are the central parts of the island with picturesque villages and beautiful countryside of Corsica’s National Park.

The most romantic way how you can get to Corsica across the sea, is by ferry either to Bastia in the north or to Bonifacio or Ajaccio in the south. If you have a luck, you can see some dolphins around the ship.

One of newest attractions in Billund is an amusement water park and holiday resort Lalandia. It is one of the largest water parks in the entire Denmark. The country has two of these resorts. The first was opened in 1988 in Rodby, and it is indeed the largest water park in the country. Lalandia Billund has been opened in 2009 and offers all facilities for the people of all ages – from small children to old ones. There is available a large number of water attractions for you, but also a variety of relaxing treatments, restaurants and shops.

The town of Billund is otherwise not very interesting, however it is an ideal starting point for exploring beautiful and historically important areas. From here you can get e.g. to Jelling, Ribe, Kolding or Esbjerg. Those who like flying can try the services of Billund Rundflyvning flying company and enjoy a sightseeing flight over Legoland, which costs from €30.

Podhájska village is situated on the southern part of Pohronská hills at an altitude of 170 meters. It is one of the oldest villages in the Slovak Republic. You can find it in the triangle among Nitra, Levice and Nové Zámky, 12 km east of Šurany.

The water from local springs is unique worldwide with beneficial effects on the human organism. A detailed study showed that in some problems, especially asthma and various skin rashes, the water from Podhájska has the deeper and longer lasting regenerative effect than water from the Dead Sea.

Miracle Water
The research proved that the water comes from a Tertiary sea. Fish teeth, pollen grains of plants and other biological material that were found in the bottom layers prove the age of the source.

Medicinal effects
Slovak “Dead Sea” healed thousands of people. Curative effects of highly mineralized water are suitable especially for the patients with musculoskeletal system problems, respiratory tract diseases, skin eczema, psoriasis, digestive tract diseases – especially the pancreas and spleen disorders. The water contains phosphates and calcium, which is well for the after-treatment of fractures. Bromides alleviate pain. It has also positive effect on people suffering from rheumatism, vascular and articulation disorders, persistent pain in the spine. It helps the people suffering from osteoporosis, arthrosis and arthritis. The concentration of lithium helps to treat gout, a mixture of iodine stimulates the thyroid gland, flushing the eyes heals and improves eyesight.

The thermal springs can be used all year round. For those who wish to visit the thermal swimming pool for medical purposes, we recommend to do so in autumn, winter and spring, as the effect of this water is stronger. Beneficial effects of this thermal waters attract still more and more visitors from all over Europe.

Thermal Resort Podhájska experienced a huge boom in recent years, a complex has been expanded, modernized and renovated. Right in the complex there is also the possibility of accommodation.

There are 9 different pools with temperatures ranging from 30 to 38°C. There are plenty of refreshment options at various stalls and restaurants, excellent entertainment program for the kids. During summer vacations there is a very rich cultural program.

The basic admission is €5,50.

If you would not know what to do during these rainy and cold summer days, I think Thermal Resort Podhájska can be a great tip.
