When there is an increase in monthly expense the travel plans are generally pushed to a back seat. However being a travel freak you just cannot miss out on the opportunity to spend some quality time with your family and stay far from the work stress for some time. Though it may be difficult but something tells you to find out other options.

So what is it that you are thinking of? Can you really make it?

Well yes, you can certainly plan for a tour with your family. The only difference will be that it may be not be a luxurious or expensive tourist spot but a fun place close to your home or a small budget trip. To make it more affordable here are some things that you can consider:

  1. Find a spot within driving distance: Planning a travel does not always mean that it has to include air flights or cruise travel. It can be a pretty spot within a close range of your home. You can drive to the place and have a fun time with your family. It will not only save you the cost of booking hotels but also the travel fares on flights. At the end of it you can have a vacation and that too without disrupting your budget.
  2. Divide the travel expense: If you are travelling with your family and other relatives or friends you can opt for a car rental service and can contribute together for the fare. You can compare the deals here to check out the best deals available. Whatever the total cost is you can divide that among the members so that anybody does not have to bear it alone.
  3. Grab exciting travel deals: Sometimes there are exciting deals offered by travel companies on flights and hotel stays for various locations. If you want to visit that particular place it would be a good idea to grab the deal and make the trip happen. However be conscious of knowing the deal offers and discounts in details so you do not face problems later.
  4. Minimize food costs: If you are running low on your budget you perhaps do not want to waste every a single penny. Sometimes even if you save on the travel your money gets wasted on food expenses. In order to take control of that you can consider packing a good amount of food for your trip. You can pack them in hot lunch boxes in order to keep them fresh for a longer time. Also avoid eating at expensive restaurants or food joints as much as possible.
  5. Search for affordable hotels: If your stay is for a few days consider taking an affordable hotel instead of spending your money on expensive hotels. During the trip you would spend much of your time in visiting different tourist spots of the place or enjoying a fun time at the beach or hills. So it makes no sense to spend a luxurious amount on your stay. You can use that money for something else or can save it.
