Osborne House located on the Isle of Wight became secured by the longest-reigning British monarch – Queen Victoria in the 19th century. Already in her first visit she felt in love with this palace and decided to purchase it later together with her spouse, including the giant complex, which belonged to the palace.

The royal family had subsequently rebuilt it into their rural retreat with the area of an impressive 800 hectares. The seat is surrounded by vast plots of land with extensive gardens, parks, forests, but also reserves with animals. Today, there are various social events and tours for the public to fully excite the whole family. Children can play in one of many play-grounds, while parents certainly enjoy a beautiful pass through the interior and exterior of the luxury palace.

Osborne House is a good example of traditional British relations, which may seem a little too formal, but on the other hand, for many can be nice and slick.

Scottish Castle Brodick is located on the island of Arran and is one of the oldest Scottish fortresses. Its history dates back to Viking times when the castle served as a defense against their attacks. Fort was built by the English Duke of Hamilton, and over the centuries, has been rebuilt into a castle. In 1957, the last heir of Hamilton’s gave up Brodick Castle and such the seat opened to the public.

In addition to the large art collection, the castle is interesting also for the world-famous collection of rhododendrons. It is just at the sea and includes wonderful gardens with a great view of surrounding hills and majestic mountain of Goatfell.

One of newest attractions in Billund is an amusement water park and holiday resort Lalandia. It is one of the largest water parks in the entire Denmark. The country has two of these resorts. The first was opened in 1988 in Rodby, and it is indeed the largest water park in the country. Lalandia Billund has been opened in 2009 and offers all facilities for the people of all ages – from small children to old ones. There is available a large number of water attractions for you, but also a variety of relaxing treatments, restaurants and shops.

The town of Billund is otherwise not very interesting, however it is an ideal starting point for exploring beautiful and historically important areas. From here you can get e.g. to Jelling, Ribe, Kolding or Esbjerg. Those who like flying can try the services of Billund Rundflyvning flying company and enjoy a sightseeing flight over Legoland, which costs from €30.

Further information about Aquapark Lalandia you can find on the official website here.

Walcher Waterfall is the largest waterfall in Austria and considered the highest waterfall in Austria. However it has three main steps, 50, 100 and 100 meters tall, between which there is a lot of small waterfalls and cascades. The total height of Walcher Waterfall is 500 m.

We can find it in the Land Salzburg, in the Hohe Tauern National Park, at the beginning of the mountain trail Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, near the village Ferleiten. Walcher Waterfall is accessible on foot from parking spot in Ferleiten, from where you can get to the first part of the waterfall. Then you can go ahead to the other parts of the waterfall following the trails.

The whole trip takes about 3-4 hours. However if you still have some free time, you could also visit a local park Wildpark Ferleiten where you can see many interesting natural attractions as well.

Ulm Minster is the highest church in the world, located in the city of Ulm, in the state of Baden – Wuerttemberg, Germany. It is often referred to as Ulm Cathedral due to its great size, but Ulm Minster has never been a seat of bishop, therefore it is not a cathedral, but church.

Ulm Minster is the Lutheran church built in the Gothic style with a rich and unique decor. Its construction lasted from 1377 until 1890. Upon completion, about 320 singers met here and sang.

Ulm Minster is a city symbol. It can accommodate up to 2,000 people. Its length is 123.5 meters and width 48.8 meters. Its dominant is 161.5 meters tall tower, which made it the tallest church in the world. From the tower you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the entire city of Ulm. During the nice weather you can even see the Alps.

Fortunately, during the World War II the church was almost not harmed, despite the fact that all the surrounding area was bombed and more than 80% of the buildings were totally destroyed.

Pravčická brána (Pravcicka Gate) is Czech national natural monument and the largest natural rock gate in Europe. It is considered the most beautiful rock formation in the National park of Bohemian Switzerland (České Švýcarsko) and a symbol of the region.

Its dimensions are impressive, but when viewed close-up it seems to be even greater. Span arch at the bottom is 26.5 m, the height of the gate is 16m and its width is about 7-8m. The minimum thickness is 3m, the peak of the gate is 21m above the bottom.

From the point of entry into the area there are several divergent paths and stairs to the observation platforms where you can watch Pravčická brána or enjoy impressive views to the surrounding nature.

On your way to Pravčická brána you have to pass through the Castle Sokolí Hnízdo (Eagle’s Nest), built in 1881 on the site of the oak bark hut, which served as a bar. Castle Sokolí Hnízdo was originally used to accommodate important guests of the local family of Clary-und-Aldringen. Today there is the museum of the national park and stylish restaurant decorated with original paintings.

Hochosterwitz castle stands on a secluded hill on the edge of large forests. There is a very nice view of the landscape from the castle and you can see it even from about 30 km distance.

Hochosterwitz castle is very old. It was first mentioned as early as the 860th. The castle was heavily damaged by frequent incursions of Turkish troops at the turn of the 16th and 17th century. In 1541 it was a site of of Emperor Ferdinand I. Later in 1571, it was bought by Baron George Khevenhüller. Since then the owners of the castle is still the Khevenhüller family. Under their rule in 1570-1586 the castle was extended to large fortification system, which was at that time quite unique in its scope.
