The Hike to Pančava
The waterfall is located near the source of the Labe (Elbe) River, on the southern slopes of the Krkonoše massif. The most scenic approach starts from Špindlerův Mlýn and follows the red-marked trail via Dívčí lávky, past the Labský důl valley, to Labská bouda mountain hut. From there, a marked detour leads to the viewpoint above the falls.
The surrounding landscape is unique — the Krkonoše tundra is an Arctic-alpine relic ecosystem left over from the last Ice Age. Look for rare plants like the cloudberry and the Krkonoše endemic saxifrage that survive nowhere else in Central Europe. On clear days, the views stretch as far as Sněžka, the Czech Republic’s highest peak.
